Heather be her name................
0600 am this morning I was put through a workout by the personal trainer at my gym. Heather (ex-military) put me through my paces for almost an hour and a 1/2!!!! From lifting weights (squats etc) to putting my fat ass on the floor with the gym full of people working out to make me do push up and crunchs and leg lifts and these killer movements she calls "planks". Then at the end she puts me on the treadmill and I increase my speed to a fast walking pace and she starts to increase the incline and slowly takes me up to a 15 incline.
Every cell in my body is sore, but not painful. I LOVED MY WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait till Friday to do it again. She has me to a day after Turkey Trot 5k!!!!! I need this pushing!!!!!!!
More to share later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its Been a Long Time......................
Its been a long time since I last "blogged". Don't know where really to start, but will give it a "tri".
Life has been both crazy and lazy aroung the house. Still working 40+ hours a week as a Nursing Supervisor and started my part-time position working for a local doctor doing testing on his patients for vascular disease and am still studying for my BS in Nursing but switching schools (am still on-line, new program moves faster). Also attending every Friday nite high school football games watching my baby boy (6ft 5 280) play starting nose guard for our varsity team (ranked #10 in our divsion in the state) and focusing on my daughter as she starts her freshman year in college, and spending quailty time with my wife.
Since I work everyother weekend, my wife and I have been taking one day on our weekend off and spending doing something fun and away from the house. Been going to local parks for walks, lunches out etc.
So, haven't been blogging myself but have been reading other blogs in our blog community.
I fell off the diet wagon, but with no weight gain. Workouts slowed but did not stop. I picked up a new toy to help with my training. Nike ipod. Love it!!!!! I don't wear Nikes but got a sensor pocket to lace in my shoes.
Last night in the mail was a newsletter from my community center and in it talked about the upcomong events.....and then there was a small text box.....Indoor Triathlon March 30, 2008.
So, I called and spoke with Heather, who is in charge of this event. She also does personal training there. So, I was scheduling a visit with her to go over the weight machines and we started to discuss the indoor triathlon (500m swim/15mi bike/5k run) and asked her what she thought about a "Super Clydesdale" doing her event to which she replied...Yes.
She then told me that she was a former master fitness specialist with the Army and asked if she could mentor me. Inside I was screaming YESSSSSSSSS!! So to be cool I responded, yeah sure .
So, fellow bloggers do you think that with training and a lot of dedication, that this Super Clydesdale in 5 and 1/2 months train for an indoor event?
500m swim in pool
15mi on spinner bikes
5k on a treadmill
Again thanks to all of you.....Duane, The Wimmers, Obrats and many others who have allowed me into your world and shared with me training tips, stories and above all else inspiring me to be a better, fitter me.
