Todays Weigh In..............

Okay for todays weigh in I lost another 4lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Down 20lbs since I started the last week in May. I am really watching what I am eating and am doing my walking. I am following the noivce program from Cool Running The Couch to 5K.

I do need some assistance........................................

Need a watch to help with my timing intervals for my program. Looked at a Nike Triax 5o any ifo or opionin on this or other?????????

Big man here with big feet (16 EE) looking for a good shoe:

New Balance model 992

Brooks Beast

Just a word we have a New Balance store nearby and the guys there are really helpful, so I am leaning towards the New Balance.

NICE JOB STEVE. You are doing great. I have had several shoes as a heavier guy and I currently have Brooks The Best shoe. They are amazingly cushioned and super stable. I have had a pair of Asics too and they were good but the Beast so far has been a great shoe. I have about 300 miles on this pair I have and I decided to get another pair of them I like them so much. Keep doing what you are doing. You are doing great.

First off - great job! Down is always good.
Now, as far as the watch goes, I just bought the Ironman triathlon by Timex and like it (just has a stopwatch feature). I previously had a HighGear watch with a lot of cool features, including being able to get a pulse by touching a landing pad with my fingertips (so you don't need a chest strap for a heart monitor).
However, as far as the C25K program goes, I never used the time intervals so didn't need a watch. Instead when the program said to do something for 100 yds, I would substitute 1 city block length, 200 yds = 2 blocks, etc. That was easier for me because I was not always fixated on time and I seemed to be able to go longer and more comfortably if I wasn't focused on time. It also saved me from a couple spills from clock watching I'm sure.
Keep at it man, you're getting there!

If you like podcasts this is a great one for the couch to 5K training. He tells you when to run and walk. My wife used it when she did the program and it is great.

I love my Beast!! I started out with NB, but switched after one pair. I think it is a real personal choice, so give'em both a try.
