I'll Show you.................

Okay let me set the scene for you. My kids wanted to go to Borders to get a magazine or book, so I say yeah lets go. I am cruising the magazine aisle and find the recent issue of Triathlete. I pick it up. I then go to checkout counter and wait in line.

"Next in line please" I walk up to the checkout and place my magazine, a cd and a couple of items from my kids. The punk running the cash register is ringing up my items and comes to the issue of Triathlete. He picks it up and looks at the cover......then looks at me and says, "Triathlete uh"? Looks at me again and says"uhmmmm".
I had a couple of different emotions:
1) Reach over and punch him.......no might go to jail
2) Reach over and punch him again................again shouldn't do this
So, I say "none yet this year but look for me in 2008" I paused and added "asshole".
Don't know if I handled in the most adult manner, but I felt good. And yes look for me to complete a tri in 2008.
CAUTION: SUPER CLYDESDALE IN TRAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just another thing that should help to motiviate you. Not that what other people think should ever cause you to be concerned, but nonetheless, still a good motivator. You are doing great so keep going and keep this guy's though in the back of your mind (and picture too because you may pass him in a tri someday)

You shoulda punched him. I mean come on he works at a BOOKSTORE - how tough could he really be?
And .... if a person doesn't want to be called an asshole, perhaps they shouldn't BE one. Just a thought.
We're looking for you in 08.

Some people's kids! Luckily the tri-community is so unlike that! Super Clydes rock! There were so many Clydes at my race Sunday it was cool!
When you get out of the water after your swim and are heading into t1 and all those skinny people are yelling for you, you will love it!

That is *unbelievably* rude. I would have complained to the mgr.

You go!!!!! You are who you are and you get there when you get there!

Just found your blog -- so I started reading from the beginning.

Reminds me of when I bought my first Runner's World in WalMart. Stressed more over that than buying porn when I was 15!

Anyway, congrats on your life change. Looking forward to reading on and cheering you on!
